This is an internationally unique interdepartmental resource centre for the Medical School, where students and practitioners of many medical disciplines can resource a wide range of study material – including radiological, anatomical and pathological specimens.
The over-riding theme of this project was the concept of ‘investigative wonderment’ that has occurred throughout history that occurs at the intersection between art and science.

In completing this Pathology Museum
we worked with a diverse team of professors, technicians, researchers and clinicians to produce what has been termed an internationally unique research centre.
The design proposal led to a large donation from the Auckland Medical Research Foundation and further funding from the Auckland University.
Due to the sensitive nature of this project we instigated Maori protocols for cultural safety of the visitor, working with Dame Te Atairangi Kaahu and others for the naming of the centre and installing a cleansing Puna Wai at the entrance.
